People Are Gross

I mean really did you have to leave paper towels with your poo on them in our garbage can for all the world to see, smell, and for me to have to clean up. Even the tons of spray you used didn't hide the smell. Was the toilet paper not to your liking? Huh, what could it have possibly been to make you do that. And to the lady that left her baby's soiled diaper for us THANKS. End rant.

OMG Did Lunch Suck

And I don't mean the food. When I came into the restaurant there was a group of mothers with their kids who were quite loud, but they didn't stay long. So I thought great get some reading done while I eat a slice of pizza. Oh no that was not meant to be. In comes a mother and father and 2 small children.....the little one just screamed most of the time and the older boy I think he was maybe 4 just did not have an inside voice. And he kept turning to stare at me and try to engage me in conversation. Well anyone who knows me knows I like the kids I like, NOT all kids. Sorry that's just how it is. So I did not want to engage in a conversation with this little one. What really got me was the parents thought it was cute that he was talking to everyone and that his brother was using his voice so well. Why can't parents be considerate of others? I understand that kids are not always quiet, but the parents could have at least tried to quiet them down as we were in a restaurant. So needless to say not a good lunch for me.

Fluff reading

So does anyone else have trouble concentrating when it's so dang hot out? I find I can't read the mysteries that I love as I just can't make sense of them in the heat. So I've taken to reading fluff or wallpaper for the mind as one of my friends calls it. I've read some Binchy, Adler, Pilcher, I even tried some Delinsky, but it didn't go well. There's just something about the way Delinsky writes that I don't like. I like books that are written about summer getaways in a foreign land. Strange I know. Most of the Binchy books are of course set in Ireland and Adler's books mainly in any foreign place that's warm, Tuscany, Provence, the Riviera well you get the idea. I just eat them up. Hopefully it will be cooler soon and I can get cracking on all the mystery books on my TBR pile. I just started A Glassful of Letters by Evelyn Conlon it's set in Ireland and follows the lives of the people who live on the same Dublin street. I am only a few pages in and I haven't got a feel for it yet. Hopefully I will like it if not I won't spend more than 25 or 50 pages on it. Life is too short to read books that don't make you happy.

Real post

I decided it's been awhile since I've done a "real post" so here it is. Ray and I went to John's (his boss) birthday party on Sat. It was meant to be a surprise party, but one of the family members (party pooper) went and told him ( that's a whole other story). We had a nice time. Dennis and the boys from the shop handled everything and I do mean everything: they bought the food, invited people, got all the paper products, all the drinks, set up the tables, cooked, served and cleaned up. The cake was good too. They made it very simple just hot dogs, hamburgers, and salads. Ray did the cooking, Dennis fixed plates for the ones who have trouble walking and Andrew kept everything from buns to salads well stocked. I was very impressed with their catering skills. Makes me have some hope that if I have the hysterectomy Ray will not let me starve. I may not have anything clean to wear, but I know he can grill me some food.
Ray's getting some hay done. He's finally done at Kathy's and now is on Buck Brook. Hopefully he can get the baler fixed it wasn't working well yesterday. It's always something with his equipment. He was a tad frustrated last night and sunburned too. Oh well he's a great mechanic he'll figure it out.
See now that's a proper post. :)

I saw this on a bumper sticker on my way to lunch....Wag more, Bark less. Love it.

# 35

Grace in Small Things
These graces reflect what we take for granted, well at least I do sometimes, in no order at all:

1. A bed to sleep in
2. In door plumbing
3. Clean water
4. Money to pay bills
5. Food
6. A house
7. A car
8. A job
9. A lawn to mow
10. A garden to eat from
11. Health
12. Health insurance
13. Family
14. Friends
15. Love

Guess when I see how all of this can disappear so quickly it's time to be thankful for what you HAVE not what you want or think you need.
