Weekend round up

Maureen and I met for a funeral for our high school friends Dad. He was 81 and will be miss by all. It was lovely to see her, we figured it had been about 7 years since we'd all gotten together. We made plans to have a sleep over (so we can drink) in March. Then it was Chelsie's 15th birthday party. It was great. Lots of fun and food. Chelsie had some friends to sleep over and got some wonderful gifts. Sunday was quiet as the weather was crap so I stayed home, read and watched some TV. No Man U matches on this weekend, just FA cup. Finished Kisser by Stuart Woods and started The Defector by Daniel Silva. Well happy Monday all.

Found it

Found that book I was looking for. I'm reading Snow Angels by James Thompson. So far it's great. Gory, but great. I'll let you know how it goes.

First Book

I finished my first book of the new year. It was good. I liked the characters and there were plenty of false leads. I can't seem to settle on the next one though. I stated one last night and didn't like now I'm on the hunt.

First Book

So my first book of the new year is The Crossing Places by Elly Griffiths. I'm a couple chapters in and I'm having a great time. I love mysteries. For awhile I was reading more gentle books as things in my life were a little sad and I needed a break. Now I'm back to reading what I love. Still have the sadness in my life, but I'm getting through it slowly, but surely.
I'm watching John Adams on DVD. It's really good. I enjoy history as long as it's not being crammed down my throat.
Again this year I'm going to read more and watch less TV. I say this every year and most years I do it. I've taken on no new I'm just watching the standard ones I have for years. I've even given up a few. Desperate Housewives and Grey's being 2 of them . I find I don't miss them at all.
As for the new year, I'm hoping for more joy than sorrow. The end of 2009 just about crashed me and I'm slowly coming back to my own. So here's to joy, love, happiness and peace.
